Print the whole design
These PDFs have custom page sizes; they aren’t pre-sized Letter or A4 templates. A printer’s printable area is the part of the sheet it can put ink on. Acrobat’s Fit setting scales the PDF to that area.
- Download your chosen PDF and open its print settings. Set the paper size to match the paper loaded in your printer.
- Start with portrait orientation for Happy Halloween or landscape for Trick or Treat. Select Fit, then inspect the complete preview. Menus and margins vary between printers.
- Check every edge: the pumpkin’s hat and lettering, or the outermost red specks. Actual Size doesn’t scale the PDF, so an oversized page can be cropped.
- If you want to check the result before printing more, print one trial sheet. Look at the size and lettering where you plan to display it. Save the PDF and note the paper size, orientation and scaling setting you chose.
Find its place on the door
Choose a dry indoor spot. Hold the sheet in position and check that the handle, lock and any viewing hardware stay clear. Open the door through its full swing before attaching the sign.

A few printing and display questions
Can I print these on Letter or A4 paper?
Select whichever paper you’ve loaded, then use Fit and inspect the preview. Because the files have custom page sizes, the finished artwork size depends on your paper and printer’s printable area.
Why is part of my sign getting cut off?
Check the selected paper size, orientation and scaling. Actual Size can crop a page that’s too large for the printable area. Switch to Fit and look for the entire design in the preview, including the small red specks.
Can I put the paper sign outside?
This guide is for a dry indoor display. There’s no tested outdoor setup for either sign here. The optional mounting strips also have surface and location limits, so check the package before choosing a display spot.
Does “Trick or Treat” tell visitors I’m giving out candy?
It’s decorative lettering. Don’t rely on those words alone to communicate whether you’re giving out candy or taking part that evening. Make any participation message explicit separately.
