3D Printed Halloween Decorations: Three Projects With Character

An orange pumpkin vessel, a white skull-faced pumpkin, and a glowing Halloween sign: these three selected 3D printed Halloween decorations each give a shelf or corner something worth looking at.

Image note. The linked creator project supplies the model and setup. This is an AI scene adaptation, not a photograph of a vase printed by Hearth & Petals.

Choose one of the two display objects if you want the decoration itself to be the print. The neon sign is a more involved project, with electronics and assembly as well as printing.

Each link below leads to the creator's exact model or full guide. Hearth & Petals has not print-tested these projects.

    Project01

An orange pumpkin vase for a dry display

    Model and creator setup

Orange ribbed 3D-printed pumpkin vase with sparse dry autumn stems on a pale oak sideboard.
AI scene adaptation by Hearth & Petals. Original design and reference: Madzialke. Adapted visual: CC BY-SA 4.0. Shown in a new H&P setting.

Madzialke's Pumpkin Vase keeps the pumpkin's ribs and opens the top into a vessel. The orange form would look lovely on a dark console, with a few dry decorative stems rising above it.

I would keep those stems sparse. The ribbed outline is the reason to choose this piece, and a dense bunch would hide the opening that makes it different from another pumpkin ornament.

Keep this a dry display. The project hasn't been established as watertight or suitable for food, so the word “vase” isn't a reason to fill it with fresh flowers and water.

The creator provides the model and printing setup on the project page. Review that setup for your printer before starting.

    Project02

    A white pumpkin with a skull's grin

    Model and creator setup

White skull-faced 3D-printed pumpkin with a curled stalk on a walnut shelf against an aubergine wall.
AI scene adaptation by Hearth & Petals. Original design and reference: decay3d. Adapted visual: CC BY 4.0. Shown in a new H&P setting.

Decay3d's Pumpkin of Death puts recessed teeth into a lobed pumpkin beneath a narrow, curled stalk. In white, the shape has enough going on without surrounding it with a shelf full of Halloween props.

Give it a dark backdrop and room around the face. A black bookcase or deep-colored cabinet would let the white lobes and small stalk stand out; nearby pale ornaments would make the outline less distinct.

The version selected here is the creator's white, unpainted print. For a painted finish, the project also describes sanding, priming, and acrylic painting.

The creator specifies supports: temporary printed structures that hold overhanging parts during printing and are removed afterward. Review the creator's setup before starting; the photographed object doesn't establish how much finishing your own print will need.

Display it as an ornament, without a candle or light inside.

    Project03

A Halloween neon sign with an electronics build behind it

    Printing, electronics and assembly

Wolf-and-moon LED sign on a clay-colored interior wall, with black printed carrier, wall hook and visible power lead.
AI scene adaptation by Hearth & Petals. Original design and reference: Ruiz Brothers / Adafruit. Adapted visual: CC BY-SA 3.0. Model licensed separately under CC BY 4.0. Shown in a new H&P setting.

The Ruiz Brothers' Halloween Neon LED Signs for Adafruit offer ghost, reaper, and wolf designs within one project family. This is the choice with light in the finished display, plus a coffin-shaped case among the printed components.

Imagine one sign as the bright detail in an indoor Halloween corner, with enough space to see its outline. Plan where the powered assembly will sit before filling that space with other decorations.

Make this signOpen Adafruit's complete Halloween Neon LED Signs guidePrinting, electronics and assembly↗

The documented build requires a large printer and soldering: joining electrical connections with heated solder. Start with the complete guide: downloading the printed shapes alone won't give you the finished illuminated sign.

The guide includes the printing route and the rest of the build. Choose your motif there, then review the equipment and assembly work before committing to the project.

    Keep the project close

Before starting a print, open its creator page beside your printer's setup information. Keep that exact project link saved so you can return to the model and its instructions when you're ready to make it.

    quick answers

    before you start printing.

Can the pumpkin vase hold water?

Treat it as a dry display for dried stems or other dry decorations. We have not tested the print for watertightness or food safety, so do not assume it can hold fresh flowers in water.

Can I put a candle inside the white pumpkin?

No. Display it as an ornament, without a candle or light inside.

Do I need more than a 3D printer for the neon signs?

Yes. The Adafruit project also involves electronics, soldering and assembly, and calls for a large printer. Read the complete parts list and build guide before buying supplies or starting the print.

Where do I get the files and printing instructions?

Use the source link in each project section: it opens that exact maker’s project or guide. Check its current files, license and setup notes there. These H&P images are styled AI scenes, not photographs of prints we have made or tested.
